Easy good deeds for every day, with their sources

Grouped as the tracker groups them: prayer, remembrance, Quran and people. Add any of them to your goals on the home page.

Good deeds in your prayer

Start with the prayers you already pray.

  • The five prayers on time: prayer is prescribed for the believers at set times (Quran 4:103).
  • Fajr, with the congregation if you can: whoever prays it is under Allah’s protection (Sahih Muslim 657).
  • The twelve sunnah rakats, four before Zuhr and two after, two after Maghrib, two after Isha and two before Fajr: a house in Paradise is built for whoever prays them (Sahih Muslim 728).
  • Tasbih after each prayer, thirty-three of each phrase and then la ilaha illallah to make a hundred (Sahih Muslim 597).
  • Night prayer or witr: the best prayer after the obligatory ones is the prayer at night (Sahih Muslim 1163).

Remembrance in the gaps of the day

Words that fit into a minute at the bus stop.

  • Subhanallahi wa bihamdih a hundred times: sins are wiped away, even if as much as the foam on the sea (Sahih al-Bukhari 6405).
  • Subhanallah a hundred times: a thousand good deeds written, or a thousand sins wiped away (Sahih Muslim 2698).
  • La ilaha illallahu wahdahu ten times: like freeing four souls from the children of Isma‘il (Sahih al-Bukhari 6404).
  • Istighfar a hundred times: the Prophet ﷺ turned to Allah in repentance a hundred times a day (Sahih Muslim 2702).
  • Sayyid al-Istighfar, morning and evening (Sahih al-Bukhari 6306).
  • Ten blessings on the Prophet ﷺ: for each, Allah sends ten (Sahih Muslim 408).

A little Quran each day

One verse counts.

  • Read or learn some Quran, even a single verse by heart: the best of you are those who learn the Quran and teach it (Sahih al-Bukhari 5027).
  • Ayat al-Kursi (Quran 2:255) in bed: a guardian from Allah stays with you through the night (Sahih al-Bukhari 2311).
  • La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah, whenever you remember it: a treasure from the treasures of Paradise (Sahih al-Bukhari 6384).

Good deeds for the people around you

Kindness is part of the list.

  • Smile at someone: your smile for your brother is a charity (Jami‘ at-Tirmidhi 1956).
  • Spread the salam, to those you know and those you don’t: it brings love between believers (Sahih Muslim 54).
  • Say good, or stay quiet (Sahih al-Bukhari 6018).
  • Call, visit or help a relative: keeping family ties widens your provision (Sahih al-Bukhari 5986).
  • One act of kindness: every one is a charity (Sahih al-Bukhari 6021).
  • Thank someone: whoever doesn’t thank people hasn’t thanked Allah (Sunan Abi Dawud 4811).
  • Learn something about your deen: whoever seeks knowledge, Allah makes a path to Paradise easy for him (Sahih Muslim 2699).
